It’s been almost three years since I introduced Elias the Hedgehog, a book I wrote and illustrated for my nephew Elias’ first birthday. Now his little brother Nolan has also turned 1, and to celebrate I’ve created a character just for him – Nolan the Bear.
Nolan is different from his brother in so many ways – yet the bond between them is already so strong. In Nolan we seem to have a true adventurer. He follows his brother fearlessly into any and every activity, whether or not he is big enough to join in. In Nolan’s story I’ve tried to capture this adventurous spirit, but also the fierce attachment and admiration he has for his older brother. Happy Birthday little man!
